Two members of our Management team have been studying hard in their spare time recently, and we’re delighted to announce they have both successfully passed their qualifications.
Dan has been undertaking the WAMITAB Level 4 qualification in the High-Risk Operator Competence for Managing the Transfer of Hazardous Waste. This is the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board qualification which proved he has the level of knowledge and skills needed to ensure that Abbey Contracting comply with the Environmental Permitting Regulations (2007), for the safe transfer of waste into our Transfer Station at our Taunton office.
Our Transfer Station receives waste generated through our own asbestos removal projects, and asbestos waste from other clients both within the asbestos removal industry, and private clients.
Hayley has passed the RSPH (Royal Society of Public Health) Level 4 Certificate in Asbestos Removal for Contracts Manager qualification, developed by ARCA. This qualification demonstrates competence and is based on three written examinations and a 12,000-word assignment, covering a multitude of different areas to verify knowledge and understanding of all elements required of a Contracts Manager’s role in asbestos removal.
The assessments were set to demonstrate aspects such as: Understanding Health & Safety issues and legislative requirements, how to ensure the Health & Safety of staff during asbestos removal operations, know the requirements of setting up and dismantling asbestos enclosures, and understanding how to manage asbestos removal sites. This qualification now means that Hayley is the owner of the new black CSCS/ARMI card for Asbestos Removal Managers.
Well done to you both!
